Giles Davies founded Conservation Capital in 2004 and now leads its technical and strategic development with an emphasis on building its fast-growing investment financing and management activity and its emerging work with larger corporations. Giles was raised in Kenya and following a first class degree in Modern History from the University of London, qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in London before moving into management consultancy with the firm’s New York office. He is involved with several private equity driven ventures and has extensive experience as a non-executive Director of both private and public companies both within and outside the conservation sector. For the last 15 years he has focused primarily on conceiving and implementing conservation enterprise and related financing initiatives. He has lead more than 150 related transactions within the sector in more than 20 countries.
Andrew Gaines’s background is in insurance and management consulting, having worked with clients in over 25 countries. Prior to starting DeRisk in 2006, Andrew worked in the insurance division of Credit Suisse in Switzerland and in the insurance practice at Accenture in the United Kingdom. Andrew holds an MBA from HEC Paris and a BA in Sociology summa cum laude from Pepperdine University, California.
Paul Roberts is the Multichannel Director for the Telecoms business of UK retailer Tesco, based in London. After a first class degree in Classics from the University of Oxford, Paul worked as a consultant at Accenture and has since held a variety of leadership roles in growth and turnaround businesses. Paul brings online, marketing and operational management experience to the team.
