the lodge

Limalimo Lodge is a boutique 14 room lodge set inside Ethiopia's stunning Simien Mountains National Park. Guests are able to explore the unique flora and fauna of the Simiens and visit local communities, or simply relax in the comfort of the lodge and its grounds.

Our bar, restaurant and terrace provide breathtaking views along the Simien escarpment and give you plenty of space to relax in: you can laze on the terrace, stay warm around the fire pit in the evenings, enjoy a delicious meal from our kitchen or curl up in front of the log fire, Our communal areas are an ideal place to spot wildlife from. Eagles, vultures and many more soar past; Gelada monkeys, klipspringers, jackal and leopards amongst others are often spotted from Limalimo.

The guest rooms are scattered amongst the trees below the bar and restaurant area and reached by winding paths. All rooms have views of the surrounding landscape with our superior rooms overlooking the dramatic escarpment.

Our kitchen serves some of Ethiopia’s best food. We offer largely international cuisine but Ethiopian injera dishes are always available on request. We operate on a full board basis with fixed menus for lunch and dinner and cater for dietary requirements wherever possible.

At Limalimo Lodge we aim to promote sustainable tourism in the Simien Mountains National Park, demonstrating how responsible tourism can support conservation and sustainability in a unique and precious environment.

internet

Please note that there is no guest internet access at Limalimo Lodge. We encourage guests to enjoy the mountains and the atmosphere at the lodge.

the community

We are working closely with our two neighbouring communities – Limalimo and Afaf villages to ensure that they benefit from the lodge. The lodge was almost entirely constructed by members of the community. Today, almost all our staff are from the local area and we purchase as much locally produced food for the kitchen as possible. If you would like to visit the village of Limalimo, please let us know - we would be very happy to arrange that for you.

Through these small but essential actions, those living in and near the park are at the heart of our lodge, and can see tangible benefits of tourism, and thus, the importance of maintaining the natural beauty of the park to maintain the flow of visitors.
