Policies
1. To make a booking, please use the booking form, or contact us at reservations@limlimolodge.com. Once availability is confirmed you will be asked to make a 50% deposit payment, or pay the full price of the booking if less than eight weeks prior to arrival.
2. Payment should be made within three working days of confirmation of availability. If payment is not received the requested rooms may no longer be available.
3. The full cost of most bookings is due no later than eight weeks prior to arrival. In cases where more than 6- rooms are booked, we will require a non refundable booking fee of $10 per room night within one week of the booking being made. This is deducted from the balance of your booking. The full payment for your booking is due 12-weeks prior to arrival. In some circumstances, this is refundable, per the terms outlined in paragraph 6 below.
4. The standard room rate is a full board rate including food and standard drinks (premium drinks are charged extra), and VAT, unless otherwise specified. (Do also note that for each guest that stays at Limalimo we make a $10/night charitable contribution to the African Wildlife Foundation.) The rate does not include: a. Transportation to and from Limalimo Lodge b. Park entrance fees (compulsory, paid at the park office Debark) c. Scout costs (compulsory, paid at the park office in Debark) d. Activities
5. All prices quoted exclude any financial charges, such as bank transfer charges. Please note you are responsible for the cost of any bank charges incurred in the payment process.
6. As a small business late cancellations have a significant effect on us. Cancellation charges are as follows and are strictly applied. Please note all refunds are minus any bank charges.
a. More than eight weeks prior to arrival date: full refund
b. Less than eight weeks prior to arrival: 20% of the total cost of the stay will be charged
c. Less than six weeks prior to arrival: 50% of the total cost of the stay will be charged
d. Less than two weeks prior to arrival: 100% of the total cost of the stay will be charged
** Note: Countries, NGOs, UN agencies and businesses change their Ethiopia travel advice on a relatively regular basis. Most of the time, these changes do not affect the lodge. Where the lodge continues to operate and there has been a significant travel advice change issued by the British Government affecting Ethiopia as a whole or the Simien Mountain Region specifically, we will offer guests an opportunity to apply their booking to a later date. Otherwise, we do not accept booking changes or cancelations on the basis of a change in other country’s / organisation’s travel advice. If the lodge is unable to operate as normal, we will refund your stay in full.
7. Cancellations are on receipt of written notification sent to reservations@limalimolodge.com
8. Changes in bookings will be liable to cancellation fees as above.
9. All payments must be made in the currency in which the quotation was accepted or in which the invoice is made out.
10. All payment should be made using electronic or telegraphic bank transfer. Cheques or cash are not accepted as advance payments. Cash must be used for any payments at Limalimo Lodge. We will be introducing card payments at the lodge shortly.
11. Please send notification to reservations@limalimolodge.com that payment has been made. Failure to do so may delay the confirmation of the booking. Please include name and reservation number as the reference on the payment.
12. We reserve the right to review published rates in the event of currency exchange rate fluctuation, increases in costs or taxes, which are beyond our control.
13. Room check out time is 10am on the day of departure and check in is 2pm on day of arrival. Late departures and early arrivals may be arranged dependent on availability.
14. Children are welcome at Limalimo Lodge. Please note that we have a limited supply of cots and high chairs; bookings are on a first-come-first-serve basis.
a. Children under the age of 6 stay free of charge if sharing a room with an adult or a child over 6 years of age.
b. Children between the ages of six and 12 will be charged $35 each if sharing a room with one or two adults.
c. A child between the ages of six and 12 occupying their own room will be charged 75% of the standard single occupancy rate. A second child between the ages of six and 12 in the room will be charged $35.
d. We have family rooms available with a connecting door available. If this is desired please ask for the family rooms at the time of booking.
e. A third bed can be included in several rooms; please let us know if this is required at the time of booking.
f. Please note there are additional charges for children for activities and transport.
g. Please note that there are entry fees for children to the Simien Mountain National Park, please contact us for the most up to date rates.
15. Activities desired by the guests should be booked as early as possible and are provided on a first come first serve basis. Booking and payment for activities is on the same terms as for rooms.
16. We try to cater to any special requirements. Such requirements, including special dietary requirements, should be made as soon as possible, and at least a week in advance of arrival. Please note that the availability of equipment and many food stuffs is very limited in Ethiopia.
17. Limalimo and the Simien Mountains National Park are remote and far from any medical facilities. Guests should have their own comprehensive medical insurance when visiting Limalimo Lodge.
18. To the best of our knowledge the information on our website (www.limalimolodge.com) and in our brochures and publicity material is correct. We cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies or changes that may occur.
19. By making a reservation with Limalimo Lodge you are deemed to have accepted our booking terms and cancellation policy.
